HEIDI STOCKWELL
Ms. Stockwell’s real estate career began 22 years ago at Coldwell Banker after she graduated from UCLA. Quick to understand the intricate business of real estate, Ms. Stockwell’s business flourished from the outset, and she rapidly became one of the top listing and selling agents in the Newport Beach area. Ms. Stockwell is knowledgeable in all price ranges and types of residential properties, and is one of the few agents who have been successful and proficient in selling properties throughout Coastal Orange County.
Ms. Stockwell joined Nexus in 2006 and successfully led the sales team at the Biltmore Colony, a 152-unit condominium and patio home project in Palm Springs, California. Currently, Ms. Stockwell is Director of Sales for the 349-unit Skyline at MacArthur Place high-rise condominium project.
SANDY BAKER
Ms. Baker brings with her a vast experience in property management, including over 25 years of direct management of over 1.5 million sq. ft. for companies such as Birtcher Property Services, Pacific Mutual Realty Advisors, Spieker Properties, and Russell Properties. Ms. Baker’s property management experience encompasses all types of real property including industrial, retail, R&D, Class-A office, and residential.
Joining Nexus in 2006, Ms. Baker heads up the property management division for Nexus, overseeing both third-party properties, such as 407,000 sq. ft., Twin Towers Class-A office development. A member of BOMA and a licensed California real estate salesperson, Ms. Baker is also a past TOBY Award Winner, and recipient of the Office Building of the Year award.
TONY CLARK
A graduate of Abilene Christian University, Ms. Clark was employed as a paralegal with the law firms of Day, Day & McGee (1981-1989) and Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth (1989-1994). In 1994, Ms. Clark founded her own redevelopment and housing consulting firm, where she was a frequent panelist and lecturer on affordable housing issues for the California Redevelopment Association (CRA), served on the CRA Affordable Housing Task Force, wrote numerous articles on tax-exempt bond financing of 501(c)(3) housing acquisitions, and acted as a legislative liaison between the CRA and the California State.
In 1998, Ms. Clark shifted her focus to philanthropic pursuits, serving as a Board Member and President of the National Charity League, for which she was awarded the Presidential Service Medal by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.
In 2004, Ms. Clark worked with Rick Warren and Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, forming an 8-member pilot team to travel to Malawi, Africa to ascertain the country’s housing, medical, legal, educational, and economic needs in order to create a prototype program to be utilized by future humanitarian teams. This program, now known internationally as "The PEACE Plan," is currently being implemented in impoverished countries around the world. Ms. Clark has since founded Kasupe Ministries, Inc., a non-profit serving Malawi’s poor, and currently serves as its President.
Ms. Clark joined Nexus in 2006, bringing over 20 years of transactional experience in the area of real estate, municipal bond financing, redevelopment, and affordable housing. Working closely alongside principals, lenders, consultants, attorneys, elected officials, public agencies, and the surrounding community, Ms. Clark provides seamless communication for Nexus projects from inception to completion.
BRANDON GHIOSSI
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Mr. Ghiossi joined the Nexus team in 2007. Prior to Nexus, Mr. Ghiossi worked for Wells Fargo Bank in the Commercial and Corporate Banking Group in San Jose, California. As an analyst for Wells Fargo, Mr. Ghiossi underwrote credit facilities ranging from $1 million-$100 million dollars for technology and middle-market companies in the Silicon Valley. Additionally, Mr. Ghiossi served as a marketing consultant to a local small business by preparing marketing collateral and providing lead generation support.
At Nexus, Mr. Ghiossi’s responsibilities include coordinating and/or logistical support in the sales, marketing, market research, construction management, and project management of various Nexus projects including, the MacArthur Business Center, Bell Towne Centre, Skyline at MacArthur Place and the Convention Center Commons, in addition to assisting Nexus’ senior management with day-to-day marketing related tasks.
For the past 8 years, Mr. Ghiossi, as part of a larger non-profit organization, has been a team leader for Northern California high school students who volunteer each year to construct homes for impoverished families in Tecate, Mexico.
DOUGH BURROUGHS
A graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology, Mr. Burroughs has been actively involved in the construction industry for more than 28 years. For the past 20 years, he has specialized in high-end corporate tenant improvements and pre-construction services. In 1982, he joined Turelk as a Project Superintendent, supervising more than 1 million sq. ft. of tenant improvements in the Los Angeles area. In 1989, Doug joined Johnston and Associates to manage all field operations and was responsible for the day-to-day operation of all field personnel, with the objective to complete all jobs on time and within budget.
Since joining Nexus in 1999, Doug has supervised field operations for Enfrastructure (Tech Space), a 200,000 sq. ft. sophisticated tenant improvement in Orange County which included a computer center with 24-hour air and new emergency generator, a health club, cafeteria and multi-use office space. Doug was the Project Manager of the Hyundai Design & Technical Center in Irvine, a state-of-the art, turnkey, 90,000 sq. ft. tilt-up. Doug also served as Project Manager on the Brenexus Limited and Office Edition project in the Irvine Spectrum area. The project covers over 500,000 sq. ft. of office space and 84 units in total. For the past three years, he has been involved in the pre-construction and permitting of the Skyline at MacArthur Place high-rise project.
Mr. Burroughs is currently in charge of pre-construction for all Nexus projects.
MIKE WILEY
Mr. Wiley has been in the construction industry for 34 years. The first 23 years were in the mechanical and plumbing trades where he worked on a wide variety of projects for the City of Huntington Beach, UCLA, Kaiser Medical Centers, MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Flamingo Hilton expansion, Planet Hollywood, Northridge Mall, and the Long Beach Aquarium.
Mr. Wiley then went to work for Turner Construction where he oversaw all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and low voltage systems for projects like the Grand California Hotel at Disney, and the San Diego Convention Center expansion. He also served as MEP Coordinator for Swinerton Builders in San Diego and was involved with all projects including the Omni Hotel, Cal State San Marcos Science and Arts Facility, SDSU Physical Science Building, UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest and Union Bank of California Data Center.
Mr. Wiley joined Nexus in 2006 as MEP Manager and is involved with all projects from the schematic design phase through buyout and coordination. He also oversees Nexus field staff responsible for MEP trades installation.
DAVID BEEGLE
Mr. Beegle attended California State University at Long Beach where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology and Construction Management. In the 27 years since, Mr. Beegle has served in many facets of the construction industry. His primary focus has been as a Senior Project Manager on a multitude of diverse construction projects including multifamily residential, hospitality, retail, entertainment, educational, office buildings and industrial facilities. He served as an owner’s representative for the California State University System and the Sport Club Company (luxury athletic club developers), and construction manager for a prominent Los Angeles architectural firm.
Mr. Beegle served as the Senior Project Manager for the Skyline at MacArthur Place team.
BEN BRENNAN
Mr. Brennan has been working in commercial real estate construction since 1988 after attending San Diego State University. Mr. Brennan began his career at Investment Concepts where he spent two years managing nearly 600,000 square feet of retail tenant improvements in Orange County. From 1990 through 1995, Mr. Brennan served as the Assistant to the Vice President of Construction at Crossroads Development, a retail developer with numerous projects throughout Southern California in excess of 2,000,000 sq. ft. In 1996, Mr. Brennan joined Champion Development where he managed the tenant improvement division of the company.
Mr. Brennan joined Nexus in January 2000 as a Project Manager. While at Nexus, Mr. Brennan has worked closely in the build out of over 500,000 sq. ft. of tenant improvement projects at the Twin Towers at MacArthur Place and Brenexus projects. In addition to Nexus projects, Mr. Brennan has completed numerous third party projects throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, including SeeBeyond, Caruso Affiliated Holdings, and the International Cinematographers Guild.
SCOTT CRUMBAKER
Mr. Crumbaker comes to Nexus with over 15 years experience in the construction industry. After graduating from Rutgers University, Mr. Crumbaker began his career as a Field Engineer on the Ritz-Carlton Resort project in Florida. Also while in Florida, he held positions as Area Superintendent and Cost and Scheduling Engineer for 900,000 sq, ft. of airport cargo facilities and the Coulter Technology World Headquarters.
Mr. Crumbaker was the Pre-Construction/Project Manager with Turner Construction in Miami and with Stiles Construction in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was responsible for estimating and purchasing for a 9-story luxury condominium building with a $10 million budget. He has acted as Supervisor for the construction of two 16-story luxury apartment buildings with a 6-story parking garage, recreation deck and marina, totaling 850,000 sq. ft. with a $42 million volume.
Recent projects include Project Manager with Swinerton Builders for a 9-story 250,000 sq. ft. luxury apartment building including 3 levels of parking in the Gaslamp Square in San Diego, California; and Project Manager with Hunt Building Co. for a public/private venture (Family Housing) at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California that includes redevelopment of 3,397 homes of which 1,096 are newly constructed with a $350 million volume. Currently, as Project Manager with Nexus, Mr. Crumbaker completed the site and pad preparation for a 178,000 sq. ft. SuperTarget in Phoenix, Arizona with a $7.5 million volume.
